LACERA is responsible for the administration and investment of two separate funds: L.A. County’s pension fund, which provides defined retirement benefits for employees of the County and outside districts, and the Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) Trust, which provides healthcare and other benefits for retirees of the County, LACERA, and the Superior Court.

The Board of Investments is responsible for establishing the investment policy and objectives, and oversees management of both the fund and the trust.
