Ms. Zapanta is an appointed trustee of the Board of Retirement. She is the administrator of Eastside Orthopedic Medical Associates (EOMA), overseeing the management of an orthopedic surgery clinic, multi-specialty outpatient surgery center, and physical therapy center. In 2012, she founded the Los Angeles Center for Orthopedics, a lien-based concierge medical service provider. She has expertise in contracting, healthcare management, and personal-injury strategic partnership development between physicians and attorneys. Previous experience includes working for the chief of staff at the private equity firm The Yucaipa Companies, and providing investor relations support for the founding of ProAmerica Bank, in the office of Executive Chair and Founder Maria Contreras-Sweet. Ms. Zapanta is also affiliated with several philanthropic organizations and currently serves on the inaugural gala committee for The Wellness Center, LAC+USC Hospital Foundation.
