Aleen Langton serves as an elected trustee on the Board of Investments. She is a Principal Deputy County Counsel and has dedicated her entire legal career to government service. Notably, Ms. Langton is the first County Counsel attorney and the first individual of Armenian descent to serve on the LACERA Board.
Ms. Langton earned her Juris Doctor degree from Glendale University College of Law in 1994, where she served as student body president during her final year.
Notable achievements:
- Served as counsel for the Executive Committee of the Regional Homeless Alignment and Leadership Table
- Provided counsel to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) for 15 years
- Advised LAHSA in the landmark federal court case, Los Angeles Alliance v. City and County of L.A., et al
- Presented at statewide County Counsel Association conferences on the confidentiality of Adult Protective Services records and legal issues related to homelessness in Los Angeles
- Contributed as a legal expert on Adult Protective Services for the Nationwide Forensic Multidisciplinary Team
- Assisted in developing national training on elder financial abuse for Stanford graduate students
